• Real-Time Location: Chasqui uses your device’s GPS to detect proximity to landmarks for narrations, events, and map-based features. You grant consent each time via your device’s permission prompts.
   
• Route Data: If you use Custom Tours or Detour features, we collect start and end coordinates and any waypoints you select to calculate and store routes.
   

• Device and App Usage: We gather non‑personal analytics such as device type, operating system version, session duration, feature usage, and crash reports.
   
• Event Logs: We record when you start/complete tours, listen to narrations, tap landmarks, and interact with app features.
   

• Places and Events: When you view landmark details or events, we may fetch additional data (hours, ticket links, venues) from third‑party APIs (e.g., Google Places, Ticketmaster).
   

• Provide App Functionality: To deliver narrations, maps, landmark details, event listings, and tour-building features.
   
• Improve User Experience: To personalize recommended tours, Free Roam notifications, featured tours, and to suggest nearby landmarks.
   
• Analytics & Performance: To analyze usage patterns, optimize performance, fix bugs, and plan new features.
   
• Communication: To send you optional in‑app messages, release notes, or support responses when you contact us.
   

• Service Providers: We share data with trusted vendors (e.g., Firebase, Google Directions API, ElevenLabs) solely to support our services and under confidentiality agreements.

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. This includes encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), secure cloud storage (Firebase), and industry‑standard encryption for sensitive data.

Chasqui integrates with:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, Firestore database, storage, and analytics.
   
• Google Directions & Places APIs: Route calculation and landmark enrichment.
   
• ElevenLabs: AI‑generated narrations and voice services.
   
• Ticketmaster (or other event services): Event discovery and ticket information.
   

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. Please review their privacy policies before using those features.

• In‑App Storage: We use local device storage to cache map tiles, narration audio files, and your settings for offline access.
   
• Cookies/Equivalent: While Chasqui is a mobile app and does not use browser cookies, similar identifiers may be stored on your device to remember preferences.
   

Chasqui is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us to have it removed.

• Access & Correction: You may view or update your profile information in the app’s settings.
   
• Location Permissions: You can enable or disable location permissions at any time through your device settings; disabling may limit core features.
   
• Opt‑Out of Analytics: You may opt out of analytics and crash reporting by toggling settings in the Profile section.

Your data may be processed and stored in servers located in the United States and other countries. By using Chasqui, you consent to the transfer of your information globally.
